Head Coach — Alloy Personal Training, Palos Verdes (Full-Time)
Alloy Personal Training in Palos Verdes is hiring a Full-Time Head Coach to lead our coaching team, drive client retention, and deliver an exceptional Alloy training experience. This is a high-impact role for a fitness professional who loves coaching but is ready to take ownership of a studio's training quality and member experience.
You'll be the right hand to ownership, the lead voice on the training floor, and the person our 100+ members rely on for results.
Compensation
- Base salary: $50,000 - $59,000
- Performance bonuses tied to membership growth and retention (realistic OTE $65-75K as we grow membership above 110)
- Partially employer-subsidized health, dental, and vision insurance (rare in the boutique fitness industry)
- Paid time off
- Free studio access + discounted supplements
- Real path to expanded responsibility and comp as the studio scales and we build more studios
Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours/week. ~25-30 hours coaching on the floor, balance dedicated to retention, member experience, and team leadership. Some early mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends required.
What you'll do:
Coaching (the core of the role):
- Lead 25-30 small group personal training sessions per week using the Alloy method
- Coach groups of up to 6 with energy, precision, and genuine care
- Run Starting Point sessions for new members and follow Alloy's onboarding system
- Maintain detailed client records and progress notes in the Alloy app
Member experience & retention:
- Personally connect with members who haven't checked in 8+ times in the last 30 days
- Run accountability sessions and follow-ups to keep members engaged
- Be the warm, recognizable face our members come back for
- Track retention, attendance, and engagement metrics in Mindbody
Team & operations leadership:
- Help recruit, train, and develop coaching staff
- Assist with scheduling and weekly workout reviews with the training team
- Support studio operations — opening/closing, cleanliness, supply management
- Partner with ownership on staff meetings and quarterly check-ins
What we're looking for:
- Current nationally-recognized PT certification (NASM, ACE, ACSM, NSCA, ISSA, or equivalent)
- Current CPR/AED certification
- 2+ years personal training experience; small group experience strongly preferred
- Prior leadership, team lead, or assistant manager experience a major plus
- Genuine warmth — our members come back because of how you make them feel
- Strong communication and follow-through; you do what you say you'll do
- Tech comfortable — Mindbody, Alloy app, basic spreadsheets, social media
- Reliability and integrity. This role requires trust.
- Sales comfort — not pushy, but able to confidently guide a Starting Point session into a membership
- A teachable spirit. The Alloy system works when you run it as designed.
Why Alloy Palos Verdes:
- Established studio with 100+ loyal members — you're stepping into an active, full schedule, not building from scratch
- Proven Alloy programming and systems — no designing workouts from blank pages
- Direct partnership with hands-on ownership who values their team
- No big-box gym sales grind — our members are committed and looking for results, not pressure
- Real growth path: as we scale membership, your bonus scales and your role expands
- Beautiful Palos Verdes location, supportive team culture, mission-driven work
